Quando tinha meus 17 anos, morava em uma cidade do interior de São Paulo chamada Birigüi - é a cidade que o programa RockGol tanto fala e do Reinaldo Gianechini também. Nesta época conheci uma banda da cidade de Jaú, Os Patrões. Particularmente, uma das melhores bandas independentes que vi tocar, tanto os covers quanto as músicas próprias são ótimas.
Ainda mais em uma cidade/região que reina o Pop, Sertanojo, Axe e porcarias deste nível, apareceu uma banda que tocou em bares e baladinhas Led Zeppelin, Ozzy Osbourne, Pink Floyd, Ramones, entre outros clássicos. Virei fã na hora.

Na verdade fazia algum tempo que não escutava a banda, lembrei dela por causa deste vídeo abaixo em que o Aquiles Priester - baterista do Angra - tocou Smoke On The Water do Deep Purple no programa Território Livre da Rede 21.

Descobri por acaso a banda Shinedown formada por Brent Smith (vocal), Nick Perri (guitarra), Eric Bass (Baixo, piano, vocal), Zach Myers (guitarra) e Barry Kerch (bateria). Através do MySpace vi o vídeo da música Devour e achei muito bom.
A banda norte-americana é de Jacksonville na Flórida e existe desde 2001, mas ganhou um grande reconhecimento através de Chris Daughtry que cantou a música I Dare You do Shinedown no American Idol (link youtube).
